Every piece of refurbished IT equipment sold by MGI undergoes a comprehensive inspection, testing, and quality assurance process before it reaches your organization. We offer enterprise hardware from leading manufacturers, backed by our warranty, so you can purchase with confidence knowing your equipment is reliable, thoroughly tested, and ready for deployment.

Refurbished enterprise IT equipment offers a cost-effective alternative to buying new. Many organizations reduce hardware costs by 30–70% while maintaining the performance, reliability, and quality required for enterprise environments.

Our team is ready to answer your questions: call us at +1 608.571.0309, email at info@mgi-inc.com, or fill out a request form.

  1. Your request to sell your equipment comes to us via form, phone call, or email.
  2. A list or audit of your equipment will be reviewed by our team. This information must include quantity, brand, part number, and equipment configurations.
  3. You will provide MGI the timeframe in which your equipment will be ready to ship.
  4. MGI will make an offer! Offers are based on equipment that is tested and working, and MGI receives a 30-day warranty from the day we receive your equipment.
  5. If our offer is accepted, MGI will send a purchase order to you and wait to receive your invoice for payment, including terms, warranty, and banking information.
  6. You will then send over your weights and dimensions when your equipment is ready for pick-up.
  7. MGI will make payment to you according to an arranged payment agreement.
  8. MGI will schedule and pay for shipping.
  9. MGI will audit and test all incoming equipment for verification and finalization of sale.

To help expedite the quoting process, provide model numbers, serial numbers (or service tags), hardware specifications, and the current location of your assets whenever possible. An inventory spreadsheet or asset management export is ideal, but if equipment has accumulated in storage without a formal inventory, photos and serial numbers are enough to get started.

We are self-insured and will cover any shipping damage that may be incurred during the shipping process if shipped on our account. To be clear, once the equipment leaves your shipping dock, we take responsibility. If there are issues on your shipping dock, that is your responsibility.

Yes, we ship internationally, weekly.

SERVER QUESTIONS

MGI purchases enterprise rack, blade, and tower servers from leading manufacturers including Dell Technologies, HPE, Cisco, Lenovo, Supermicro, IBM, and more. Whether you’re retiring a single server, refreshing an entire server environment, or decommissioning a data center, our team can provide a fast, competitive buyback quote.

Server buyback values are determined by several factors, including current market demand, hardware configuration (CPU, RAM, storage, and GPUs), age, condition, and overall quantity. MGI evaluates each asset individually and provides transparent pricing, so you know exactly how your equipment is valued.

Protecting your data is a critical part of MGI’s IT asset recovery process. Using licensed, industry-certified data sanitization software (White Canyon and Blancco), our technicians securely erase data from hard drives and SSDs before equipment is remarketed, following recognized industry standards and compliance requirements. When data sanitization isn’t appropriate or the media has reached end of life, MGI also provides secure physical destruction and environmentally responsible recycling through trusted certified partners. MGI has maintained zero data breaches across 30+ years of operations.

Yes. MGI coordinates all logistics nationwide across all 50 states. This can include on-site decommissioning, packing, and palletizing through a white-glove service. GPS-tracked transport under documented chain-of-custody is available through our preferred national carrier.

MGI responds to all quote requests within 1–2 business days. Buyback quotes are typically delivered within 48 hours of receiving your equipment information and specifics such as equipment pick-up date, net terms, etc.

Per client’s instruction, MGI can provide serialized Certificates of Data Destruction when fulfilling data-wiping services.

MGI focuses on bulk purchases, typically valuing $10,000 of equipment or more. We look to establish long-term client relationships that provide mutual benefit. Every quote that meets these criteria is free, with no obligation.

Licensed with the world’s most highly-certified wiping software, experienced MGI technicians securely and permanently remove all information from any electronic asset prior to its resale or physical destruction.

Multiple-Pass Overwrite Approach for HDD
Using licensed software, MGI’s data sanitization meets compliance requirements for numerous industries. The multiple-pass overwrite approach is the most comprehensive method of data sanitization for hard drives (HDD), allowing for maximum resale value.

One-Pass Overwrite Approach for SSD
In order to avoid risking damage, the one-pass approach is used for solid state drives (SSD). Beginning with a S.M.A.R.T. status check, drives that are in good health are effectively cleansed while resale value is preserved. Drives that fail the testing process will be recycled.

MGI helps you maximize the value of your retired networking equipment through expert evaluation, secure asset management, and strategic remarketing. Our streamlined process makes it easy to establish value from surplus hardware and reinvest those returns into your next technology initiative.

MGI provides detailed asset reporting and Certificates of Data Destruction for every applicable project, giving you the documentation needed to support compliance, internal recordkeeping, and audit requirements.
